The problem with ornaments is that the materials will cost you too much for the price you have to sell them for. No one is going to pay more than $8-10 an ornament and it will take a lot of your time too.

But one way is to buy clear ornament and do the glue and glitter on the inside and then print transfers on the computer to put on the outside. You can print all kinds of cute graphics that you just stick on, then go over them with Mod Podge so they stay in place. That wouldn’t cost much or take much time.

The most money can be made with wreaths. Most people have at least one wreath and you can make some stunning ones with materials you pick up at Michael’s and plain wreaths. Just use wire and a glue gun to keep the things in place. Buy a variety of items then sit and think about your designs.

I made quite a few wreaths using natural items I found on nature walks. Fallen things. Then I used a few bought items to embellish them. I gave those as gifts but I saw ones that weren’t nearly as nice selling for $40 and up.

You could also do some with themes. Little toys for example. People seem to like the theme ones a lot too. These would have a high payoff for the supplies and time you would need to create them.

There is rarely a better time for doing crafts than the holiday season. In fact, any holiday is perfect for craft making, it doesn’t matter which it is. The holidays can be used as your inspiration and motivation for getting creative, especially when it comes to gift giving. There is virtually no end to the things you can produce with the right materials and ideas.

Cards have got to be the most popular of all easy at home crafts. Any kind of paper can be used to make a card but construction paper works best. Any other sturdy material can also be used. Markers, paints, glitter and gems are just a few of the things you can use to decorate your card nicely. This is a perfect task for very young children to get started in crafts.

Many people are so concerned with the gift that they do not take the time to focus on the gift box. Decorating a gift box is a fabulous way to add some flare to it while increasing the delight of the recipient. Cards can actually be folded into a small gift box with just a few folds. Try searching online for step by step instruction if you should require it. Paint balloons on a birthday box or snowflakes on a Christmas gift box. The smallest touch can add a lot of personality.

Window painting makes a fun holiday craft for any holiday. Stick with the theme by using paints or spray made for window crafts. Be sure it is this type so that you know it will wash off after. Paint pumpkins and witches for Halloween or pretty pink hearts for Valentine’s Day. This type of activity is fun for adults and kids so why not do it together? It’s a good way to spend some quality time as a family getting ready for your favourite holiday.

For Valentine’s Day, try making a love bug for that special someone. Cut out a large heart from pink or red construction paper. Use a different piece of paper, usually a black or brown one, and cut it out in the shape of a bug body like that of a butterfly. Glue the body on to the heart so that the heart becomes the wings. You now have a love bug. Decorate the wings however you like.

Hanging ghosts are an easy favourite for Halloween. All you need is small white treat bags or an old sheet you can cut into large squares. Stuff the bag with anything from paper to leaves to fill half of it before tying it off. The untied portion should hang loose and the tied part becomes the head of the ghost. Draw on a face or spooky words for additional décor.

Holidays are fun for so many reasons. From painting Easter eggs to making your very own Christmas ornaments, the holidays are wonderful for bringing out the kid in everyone. It doesn’t take much to get creative. Start with the right materials and don’t allow yourself to be limited.
