My friend and I are eventually going to set up a neighborhood off / craft shop of the street in November. It will invite other neighbors to participate. The "clients" are just people in his gated community. I do art jewelry and some other phones, she baked goods, gourmet pretzels, etc., and one of her friends do not know for the bath and bath salts etc.. We could make some decorative items. What items would you buy that are made by hand? I understand how some people feel about buying food. But they will be neighbors, many of whom ate in the homes of each other for parts so it will probably be OK.

I live in Wisconsin and for the last two years I have been hand-crafting of wreaths during the holiday. I made a trade show a few weeks ago and has not well … so I talked with my parents and they suggested an auction house for a weekend to try to get some of my crafts sold. However, my uncle (who is also an architect) said I need a permit from the seller to legally sell my crafts – I even said it needs the other to the sale of crafts that I made, but no one ever told me I needed a … and did not present evidence to the organization who made the sale. My parents find it hard to believe that I need a permit vendors to sell crafts in my garage for a weekend over the year. However, my uncle is convinced. (Keep in mind that it sells its craft all year …) I tried to research online, but I find nothing … Do I need a vendor / supplier license to sell my rings in my garage for two days a year right? If I do, who would I call for more information?

If you’re like most people, the budget is tight this year. The holidays are approaching and that means extra costs. Are you looking for ways to reduce a some expenses? A great way is to have their children, or better yet, you and your children are gifts from people this year. People always say that the thought and effort placed in a homemade gift means more to them than a gift bought why not give it a try? It can be fun and will teach their children a valuable lesson about giving of themselves.

There are plenty of ideas out there, but let’s start with a list of some things you and your children can do together:

1. Baking is a large group activity. You can even work in math and reading while doing so. Think about what you want to bake. Sweet loaves make great gifts. You can find recipes online or you can get the mixing board for things like pumpkin bread, lemon poppy seed bread, date bread, etc. An easy way to wrap the bread is first put on paper and then Saran foil. Tie a pretty ribbon or you can leave children be creative and draw their own special envelope.
2. Make wrapping paper. Start with some cheap white butcher paper (you can get to Michaels). Get some sponges in the form of rental, create ways of tracking or cut shapes of potatoes. You could even let the children finger paint. With sponges and potatoes can be stamp paper of various colors. If you draw you might want to use paint or magic markers. Cut the paper in large sheets, sometimes on one foot square and complete a package them to give as gifts. You can even make matching gift cards.
3. Use old holiday cards to stationery. You can get cards in an office supply store and then cut and paste images and words to create holiday stationary. Box up, decorate the box and go! you have a great gift.
4. Of course you can always make extra biscuits or canned goods to give as gifts. If you can, in Mason jars can cut a piece of colored cloth a little larger than the mouth of the jar, put it on the top of the jar and then put the ring on. All you need do then is put a label on the bottle so that the recipient knows what you’ve done for them. The same goes for pots where you put the ingredients to make soup, brownies, cake or hot chocolate. Just make sure add the recipe to someone who knows how to cook the ingredients.

These are just some ideas to get started. Gift giving a fun activity for the whole family.
